Day 1 : Payao City Tour (Lunch, dinner)
9.00 Pick up from Chiang Mai airport and head off to Payao which has proudly been voted by the World Health Organization (WHO) as “one of five different areas in Thailand for the best region to live in”.
10.30 Stop over at Mae Kachan hotspring, located at the kilometre 70 th of the Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai high way. It has a range of shops, cafes and spa baths available.
12.00 Arrive at Payao Lake . Have lunch at Chuea Chan restaurant.
13.00 Do the boat trip along Payao Lake to see Tilokaram temple which has sunk under the lake for over 500 year.
14.00 Pay respect to Pra Chao Ton Luang Buddha which is the largest Chiang Saen style Buddha at Wat Sri Komkam .
15.00 Head to Analyo temple which imitate various religious places from India.
16.30 Check in at Payao Gateway hotel or equivalent.
18.00 Have dinner while seeing the sundown at Saeng Chan restaurant.
19.00 Back to your hotel.
Day 2 : Nan City Tour (Breakfast, lunch)
6.00 Get up early morning, participate Arm-Ging, monks walk along side walk of Payao Lake to recieve offering rice, snacks or fruits from local people and visitors. Then head off to Nan.
10.00 Visit the Mlabri , a race of semi-savage tribes.
13.00 Travel to Thawangpha district to visit Wat Nong Bua where the wall painting in the chapel tells the folks lives of the original Thai Lua women.
14.00 Head to Pua district to see the remarkable magic Dikdiam Tree that shakes like it is tickled when we touch. There is only one tree left in Thailand.
15.00 Visit Nan National museum, a former Nan Royal house which stores the Black Ivory brought from Kyiang Tong, the most respective amulet of the city.
(The museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday)
Then pay your respect to the temples around the city that have different symbols of architecture such as : Wat Phumin where the chapel was built in four gables, north, south, east and west. This is the only chapel in Thailand built this way ; Wat Chang Kam was the temple used for the coronation ceremony for the royal family according to the stone inscription of Nan city ; and Wat Ming Muang is where the city pillar was marked.
17.00 Check in at Dhevaraj Nan or equivalent.
18.00 Have dinner at a riverside restaurant.
Day 3 : Prae city tour (Breakfast, lunch)
8.00 After breakfast at the hotel, pay respect to Wat Pra Borom That Chae Hang , the holy relics for those who were born in the year of the rat. It has a wonderful unique Naga handrail which is the symbol of Nan architecture.
9.00 Continue the tour to Phae Muang Phi natural park , a wide area with no large trees. Within the area, there are strange looking earthen pillars deriving from soil erosion.
11.00 Enjoy your shopping at Baan Tung Hong the local market that is famous for producing native clothes of the north.
12.00 Have lunch.
13.00 Visit Kum Chaoluang, the ancient house, a former house of Prae royalty . Its underground was used to be a prison for slaves and prisoners for a hundred years. Beautiful, quiet but frightened.
14.00 Pay your respect to Wat Pratat Cho Hea , the holy relics temple of Phrae, To the legend it was built by Khun Lara ai Kom in the reign of King Mahathammathirach. This is well known for people who were born in the year of the cow.
15.00 Drive back to Chiang Mai. Stop by at Prathat Suton Mongkolkiri where you can find the large sleeping buddha, arts and architecture from famous temples all over Thailand and Xishuangbanna, China.
17.00 Drop you off at Chiang Mai airport with impression.
